Yet another true story, this time a cocky lawyer Jan Schlichtmann (John Travolta) gets in over his head when he takes on rich and powerful polluters in a small New England town. Eventually, he loses everything he owns in the battle to save a group of people he has truly come to love. But after everything is finally gone, he discovers something worth it all: redemption.
